Ruti battled it out against Lauren Bannon, Donel Mangena and Belle Voci, and it was her performance that ultimately wowed the viewers and the coaches on Saturday (April 7). Emma Willis began the show by announcing that the final four contestants would each give a solo performance before the voting opened.
Her coach this year, Sir Tom Jones was left speechless when he heard the result as he shot a shocked look at the camera. When asked how she felt following the news, Ruti confessed that she had no words. However, she did thank Tom for his support throughout this year’s series. As the final instalment came to a close, Ruti could be seen breaking down as she was overcome with emotion. Ahead of the result, Ruti admitted that she never expected to even win a place on The Voice. She explained: “It would be so amazing to win, I didn’t even expect to get a turn. “My friends and family have been so supportive. If I was to win hopefully they would be incredibly proud.” The result was quite a shock for many as it was previously revealed that Donel was the favourite to take the crown. However, many viewers at home were thrilled with Ruti’s win and took to Twitter to comment.
