Rapper Iggy Azalea has laughed off Internet rumours suggesting she was born a male.

The bizarre claims recently began circulating online, alleging the Fancy hitmaker had originally entered the world as a boy named Cody.

However, Azalea has brushed off the reports in a series of light-hearted Twitter posts, insisting she can’t see herself as a Cody.

Taking to the site this week, she wrote, “Wait, so I’m just now reading that I was born a man and my name is Cody?Cacklingwhy Cody tho (sic)? Lol (laugh out loud).

“I just don’t see myself as a Cody. I’m more of a Liam, if had a penis. Liam Azalea.”

She then joked about her eligibility to receive 2014 Chart-Topper Award at the Billboard Women in Music prizegiving, adding, “Am I still gonna get my billboard women in music award tomorrow, now that I supposedly have a penis or nah (sic)?”

Azalea picked up the accolade at the Billboard luncheon in New York on Friday.
