But seriously, do you think these Brit royals will return to the US after this episode? LOL

Do they not recall the appalling ramifications of the infamous moment when Michelle Obama put her arm around the Queen in 2009?

The shockwaves of that incident are still being felt in some dustier corners of the realm.

There were not just one, not two but THREE breaches of protocol on the 8th of this month.

The first was by someone who really should have known better, Hilary Clinton. She actually petted Kate's arm when she met her at a reception last night. Then Jay-Z casually touched Prince William on the arm.

But the worst by a long way was when a very sweaty post-match LeBron James swung his whole arm round Kate's shoulder for a photocall. She looked worried.

Anyone would. (Haha)

Honestly, guys, you'll be lucky if they ever come back. 

The informal ban on touching royals stems from a time when monarchs were accorded an almost divine status and had to be treated accordingly.

And this was what Piers Morgan had to say (trust him to talk!):

"You do not put your arm around the future Queen of England!" scolded the former CNN host. "You do not touch a member of the royal family unless they ask you to touch them or extend your hand."

Piers, however, was just getting warmed up in when it came to schooling "King James" LeBron on royal protocol. 

"LeBron James, you may call yourself 'King James' — you are not a real king! Prince William is going to be my king, that was his wife — hands off the Duchess... Do not touch the royals! They are immortal creatures. If they extend a hand, you gently touch it and say hello. You do not put your sweaty arm, after a game of basketball, around a member of the royal family!"

.....and someone just replied Morgan via Twitter:
