Real Madrid will bid to lift the club's 12th European Cup title when they come up against Juventus at the National Stadium of Wales.
Atlético de Madrid - Real Madrid
The 2016/17 Champions League final will be contested in Cardiff on Saturday 3 June at 8:45pm CEST. Real Madrid will pit their wits against Juventus as they go in search of the club's 12th European crown and bid to become the first team to have successfully defended their Champions League title. The National Stadium of Wales will play host to the showpiece, with this being the first time that Wales will play host the final of this competition. This fixture represents the second time that Real Madrid and Juventus will lock horns in a battle for glory. The sides' first final meeting was in 1998, when the Whites secured the club's seventh European Cup title in Amsterdam courtesy of a Predrag Mijatovic strike. Meetings between the two sides feature amongst the most-played fixtures in Europe's elite club competition, with the teams having clashed on 18 occasions. In terms of the number of times both clubs have featured in finals, for Real Madrid the Cardiff showpiece will be a 15th and their second in a row, whilst it'll mark a ninth final appearance for Juventus.
