Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are being sued by their former nanny, according to reports.
New York Daily News claims that Simonette Da Costa has filed a lawsuit after allegedly being forced to work 100-hour weeks, without being paid overtime.
Da Costa is said to have filed court documents in Manhattan Federal Court, where she describes being on duty all day every day, and often being unable to sleep, eat or take a break.
The nanny worked for the singer and the comedian from October 2013 until January 2014, looking after their twins Moroccan and Monroe, now three.
She claims that she was fired shortly after being berated by Carey for ‘expressing too much affection for their children’.
Da Costa allegedly states in the lawsuit that she was regularly called on in the middle of the night by Carey and required to ‘attend her every demand, spontaneous or otherwise’, the New York Daily News reports.
According to the publication, the court documents state that Da Costa earned between $6000 and $7200 a month, and was not paid at all for her frequent overtime.
TMZ reports that the nanny is seeking an unspecified amount of back pay and damages.
