Photos: Buhari, Obasanjo, Abdul Salam, Shagari, Babangida, Mariam Abacha et al Honoured With Nigeria Centenary Awards

President Goodluck Jonathan on Fri Feb.28 honoured 100 persons with Nigeria Centenary Awards. About 40 per cent of the awards were presented posthumously.
Among the recipients of the awards presented live were Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar and Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.
The families of late human rights activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi and afrobeat king, Fela Anikulapo Kuti rejected the posthumous awards for both late Fawehinmi and Fela respectively.
Some of those who received the awards yesterday, however, had skipped the International Summit held in Abuja. Both events were parts of the activities marking Nigeria's Centenary Celebration.
