According to documents filed with L'Wren Scott's will, she was not drowning in debt as earlier reports had mentioned, but had $9 million in assets which she left to longtime partner Mick Jagger.
The New York Daily News, obtained court documents filed on Wednesday at Manhattan Surrogate’s Court which estimate the designer had $8 million from New York City apartment, where her body was found hanging, and another $1 million personal possessions.
In her will she states: “I give all my jewelry, clothing, household furniture and furnishings, personal automobiles and other tangible articles of a personal nature - to Michael Philip Jagger." Scott's London-based fashion company had reportedly been operating at a loss for the past few years so it remains unclear how much of the estate will actually to the Rolling Stones frontman whose personal fortune is estimated to be more than $300 million.
A private funeral service was held for Scott at the Hollywood Funeral home in Los Angeles on Tuesday and her ashes were split between Jagger and her family. Her brother, Randall Bambrough, tells the paper: “She was cremated and I have some of her ashes - some of those ashes, they will be buried near our parents here in Utah. And there will be a ceremony, date to be determined, in Utah for all family members who will have an opportunity to see their friends and others.”
