News: WANTED: Extras for Fast & Furious 7

A talent recruitment website says it is seeking hundreds of extras for the filming of Fast and Furious 7 in the UAE next month.
Dubai-based Talent MENA says those interested in a background part in the the blockbuster action movie can apply on its website, even if they have no previous acting experience.
Men and women between the ages of 20 and 40 of any ethnicity are being sought for the shoot, which is scheduled to begin on April 12.
The website’s deadline for submissions is on Friday.
“[Applicants] don’t need prior experience, there are no lines involved and you must just dress a certain way on the day,” said Mohamed Koaik, the chief executive of Talent MENA.
“The requirements are a beach outfit for during the day and in another the men will have to wear suits.”
Mr Koaik stressed that the casting director from the production company will view all the submissions from the website and make the final decision about who appears in the film.

Although he did not know the exact number of extras the film will require, Mr Koaik expects it to be in the hundreds.
“The more the better in these big productions,” Mr Koaik said.
“If there was a street race or something they would want tons of people and if they could have 500 people I guess they would want 500.”
As well as the thrill of appearing, albeit briefly, in the film, Mr Koaik claimed that the extras will be paid exceptionally well.
“They didn’t want to reveal exactly how much they will pay. But in the UAE they pay really well for extras, it is the highest I’ve seen. I worked in Hollywood and have never seen them pay this well.”
Mr Koaik said he was delighted to be involved with the film.
“We are really excited. We just launched our website last August and we have really been trying to market this to the UAE.
“One of the biggest weaknesses here is the talent pool and the we hope we can find more people from the UAE to take part.”
Successful candidates will be notified on the website if they make it through to the audition stage.
