News: Bahrain arrests terror suspects

Two former Guantanamo Bay detainees have been arrested in Bahrain as they were trying to enter the kingdom via the King Fahad Causeway with forged passports, the interior ministry said yesterday.
The two men, both Gulf nationals, were carrying a large stash of cash at the time of their arrest, the General Director of Crime Detection and Forensic Science said.
“Initial investigations have revealed that the two men are former detainees of the Guantanamo detention centre. They are suspected of plotting a terror act to jeopardise the security and safety of Bahrain. More information will be revealed through the ongoing investigations,” he said. “Legal procedures are being taken to refer the case to the public prosecution.”

No further details were given about the nationality or identity of the two men.
