A team of about 40 people have been working on preparations since last Friday and will continue throughout the week to finish by this Friday, the sources said on Monday.
They added that the wedding -- to be attended by around 250 guests -- is shaping up to be an international affair, with flowers being sent in from London, Swiss technicians handling the music and Italians setting up the lighting.
A spokesman for the Florence mayor's office confirmed last week that the couple will walk down the aisle this Saturday and host a reception afterwards at the city's famed 16th-century Belvedere Fort. The venue, built in 1590, is located near the Arno River, offering panoramic views of Florence and the surrounding Tuscan hills.
West, 36, proposed to the reality star on her 33rd birthday last October during an elaborate ceremony at San Francisco's AT&T Park.
The U.K.'s Daily Mail is reporting that Kim and Kanye originally wanted to get married at Versailles but were refused, with the president of the Palace of Versailles, Catherine Pegard, stating that holding their wedding at the palace "wasn’t possible" (although she reportedly offered the couple and their guests a surprise tour on the evening before the wedding). As Pegard said in a statement, "In making this choice, they will contribute once more to a better understanding of Versailles, and will help to maintain the exceptional heritage of Versailles, which is classed as a world heritage site by Unesco."
