News & Photos: 2014 AMAAwards Winners: Clarion Chukwurah Emerges Best Actress For "Ipaye"

Bayelsa State, Yenagoa played host to the 10th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA2014). The CEO of AMA Awards, Mrs Peace Anyiam-Osigwe announced she will be stepping aside as the President of AMAA and also a minute silence was observed for the late Amaka Igwe, who according to Peace Anyiam-Osigwe “died while doing something great for Nigeria” during her welcome speech. It was indeed a colourful and eventful award night as showbiz stars like Timi Dakolo, Bez, J Martins, Edge, Ketshe and comedians Buchi, Gee Bones, Funny Bone all performed.



Asides celebrities, also in attendance were top government functionaries.

Best Diaspora Feature – Kingston Paradise(Jamaica)
Achievement In Production Design Award – Northern Affair (Ghana)
Achievement In Costume Design – Ni Sisi(Kenya)
Achievement In Make-up – Once Upon A Road Trip (South Africa)
Achievement in Soundtrack – Onye Ozi (Nigeria/UK)
Best Marketer – Okiki Films
Best Actress in a Leading Role – Clarion Chukwurah (Apaye)
Best Film – Of The Good Report
Special Jury Prize for Short Film – New Horizon
Joyce Banda Award for Film on Women Empowerment – B For Boy
Mandiba Award – Ni Sisi
Best Director – Jamil Quebeka (Of Good Report)

The 10th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Award 2014 kicked off with a welcome dinner @ Oasis Event Centre. With music and comedy, it was indeed a fun night!!!
