News: Dubai Resident Plans To Set New Guinness World Record For Bungee Jumping Come March 20 & 21

Colin Phillips
An official Guinness World Record attempt for the most bungee jumps in 24 hours will be taking place in Dubai on March 20 and 21 at the Porsche Macan 24-Bungee event at the Dubai Autodrome in support of Breast Cancer Arabia.
The jumper is Dubai resident, professional fitness coach Colin Phillips, who over the last 10 months has been doing numerous consecutive jumps every weekend in preparation for the official World Record attempt.
The event will be operated by Gravity Zone, the only permanent bungee site in the UAE which operates in partnership with the UK Bungee club and adheres to UK standards.
Phillips, a Casio GSHOCK sponsored athlete, has been working closely with the Gravity Zone ground crew and jump master, learning the business and technicalities of bungee jumping, as well as studying his body and its responses under the conditions.

For the event, extra professional man power from the UK Bungee Club is being brought in as well as multiple crane drivers and a sports therapist, ensuring safety is a top priority.
The current record for most bungee jumps in 24 hours stands at 105 jumps and was achieved by Kevin Scott Huntly of South Africa on May 8, 2011.
Phillips is aiming to complete 200 jumps by the end of the 24 hours. An official judicator from Guinness World Records will be on site to verify all jumps and ensure adherence to Guinness guidelines.

Supported by the Dubai Sports Council, the aim of the Porsche Macan 24-Bungee event is to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Arabia, an organisation that has been able to do big things with the support of the community and events such as this.
The first bungee session will officially start at 7pm on Thursday March 20, and end at 11pm; the second session is from 6am to 10am the next day and the final session will be from 2pm to 7pm.
During the event, spectators can enjoy the Porsche Macan launch and display, relax in a DJ and chill-out zone or take the plunge by pre-booking a bungee jump of their own between 10am-1pm on Friday, March 21.
In addition, a training zone courtesy of Dubai gym CrossFit Metalize will be available on site for visitors to take part in a CrossFit workout.
