An Alabama pastor who confessed to having sex with members of his congregation without telling them that he had AIDS was been temporarily banned by a judge on Thursday from acting as pastor.

Rev. Juan McFarland, 47, of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church has been ordered to turn in his church keys and church-provided Mercedes by 5 p.m. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit against McFarland allege that the congregation voted to fire him, but the pastor refused to leave and changed the church’s locks and bank account information. McFarland apparently confessed having sex with church members (and using illegal drugs) to his congregation during sermons in August and September.
