News: Na wa o: Why was MOBO 2014 “Best African Act” award presented backstage???

The MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) Awards held in London on the 22nd of this month went well, we hear, with Sam Smith clinching 4 awards!
The Best African Act Award which was presented by Ghanaian UK radio personality, DJ Abrantee went to ODG Fuse from Ghana who was stuck n traffic and could not receive the award himself.
Reports have it that this award was presented off stage quickly before the main ceremony started.
TBW recalls that the same thing happened at BET Awards this year, where the Best African Act, Davido from Nigeria reportedly received his award backstage as well.
So our question is 'Why this act'?
Very upset Africans took to Twitter to shun this bizarre act.
