Following the aftermath of the tragic shooting at Marysville-Pilchuk High School in Washington State, hospital workers have identified those who were injured when the freshman football player opened fire during lunch hours. Local police have also verified that a cafeteria worker in the school helped stop the shooter’s fury.
Gia Soriano and Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, both 14-years-old, still remain in critical condition at a medical center in Everett. Both girls suffered severe head injuries during the incident, which occurred Friday morning. LA Times reports.
Two students, including the one police identified as the shooter, Jaylen Fryberg, were killed in the attacks; the other student has not been identified. Four other students, including the girls, suffered serious injuries. On Saturday afternoon, Harborview Medical Center in Seattle identified the other surviving victims as 14-year-old Nate Hatch and 15-year-old Andrew Fryberg.
There has been no confirmation as to whether or not the other surviving victims, Andrew and Jaylen, are related.
Police officers blocked off the entire school Saturday morning for further investigation in the deadly shooting.
According to Jaylen’s Twitter account, officials have assumed that he was going through a breakup. Investigators are still trying to confirm a motive behind the shooting.
We pray for all of the victims and their family during this difficult time.
