Dedicated to commemorating and continuing Dr. Adadevoh's legacy, the non-profit aims to provide support to advance Nigeria's healthcare sector. "The trust works through collaboration and partnership with organizations and associations committed to its main objectives and owns and manages an endowment fund which is open to individual and institutional contributions," the family stated.
The newly-registered non-profit aims also to continue the development of the healthcare sector in order to proactively prevent other outbreaks and health emergencies in Nigeria, much like the late doctor did.
"As a result of [Dr. Adadevoh's] keen perception, courage, and steadfastness, all subsequent Ebola cases in Nigeria could be traced to a single path of transmission originating with the index case," the organization's webpage states. "This is what differentiated the outbreak in Nigeria from the ongoing, growing outbreaks in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Largely due to her efforts, Nigeria was declared Ebola-free on 20 October 2014."
