The ceremony saw knockout performances by Michael Jackson Video Vanguard winner Jennifer Lopez (her first VMA performance since 2001), Vogue Arabia cover star and Best Hip-Hop Song winner Nicki Minaj, and new mother Cardi B. Newcomer Camila Cabello won two awards for her certified hit Havana— Artist of the Year and Video of the Year— and Madonna paid a tribute to the late Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. However, the action wasn’t solely reserved for the stage. As per usual, the red carpet did not disappoint. Known for being glamorous and outrageous, the MTV VMA’s has provided viewers with some of the most risk-taking and memorable celebrity fashion moments throughout its 24-year history, and this year’s ceremony was no different.
