Bill Cosby, America's favourite TV dad is one man that reminds me so much of my dad (I really dunno why), ok and Dr Sid's dad, Late Justus Esiri and Olu Jacobs.
But these nasty allegations that have been haunting one of America's most iconic comedians with a reputation for moral wholesomeness are just un-fathomable!!!
For nine years, Bill Cosby has been accused of sexual assault by women who say they were the victims. Cosby has repeatedly said that the allegations are untrue. And he has never been prosecuted. But since 2005, a handful of women have made the claim.
This year, those accusations resurfaced, and on Monday, a seemingly harmless post to Cosby's confirmed Twitter account turned them into a social media storm.
We even understand that his appearance on David Letterman was CANCELLED amid uproar over all these sexual assault allegations.
Seeing all these on social media actually made me shed tear or two! I am sorry if I sound like a racist here but heaven knows I'm NOT and I wish I didn't have to say this but I ALWAYS speak my mind.....and my question is this.....
Why is it always white girls who nail black superstars in sports, entertainment and what have you?
This has been a bad week for Bill Cosby, thanks to an outspoken standup comic, an Internet meme generator gone awry and an alleged victim who claims she was drugged and raped by the beloved TV dad. Although there have been several accusations over the years, 77-year-old Cosby has never been prosecuted and says the allegations aren't true.
Earlier this year, however, comedian Hannibal Buress began referring to Cosby as a "rapist" in his standup act. "He gets on TV, [says] 'Pull your pants up, black people. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom.' Well yeah, but you're a rapist," said Buress. "I don't know what I'm doing by telling you. I guess I want to just at least make it weird for you to watch Cosby Show reruns."
Burress's reintroducing these decades-old allegations then led accuser to re-emerge, writing a piece for The Washington Post on Wednesday in which she detailed how, as a 17-year-old aspiring actress in 1985, Cosby "drugged and raped me." As CNN points out, Bowman is one of several women to have made similar claims.
In the midst of all this, the people behind Cosby's social media proved to be unbelievably tone deaf when, on Monday, they tweeted a photo of a jovial Huxtable-era Cosby with a link to a meme generator, "Go ahead. Meme me! #cosbymeme."To say the Cosby meme generator backfired is like saying The Beatles were sort of famous.
In fact, Twitter exploded with a barrage of memes like these:

By Monday night, the tweets had been deleted and the meme generator removed from Cosby's website. Cosby has yet to address the controversy, but his attorney, Walter M. Phillips Jr., told CNN the allegations were "utterly preposterous" and "plainly bizarre."
In the meantime, Cosby is slated to star in a new NBC sitcom next year, but it's unknown what kind of effect this controversy will have on those plans.
