Photos: Khloé Kardashian slammed for "KKK" photo joke on Instagram

The Kardashians have a long history of stirring up controversy with the things they post online.

However, it seems like Khloé Kardashian is making a move to take the "ill-advised Instagram pic" crown with her recent post in which she awkwardly compares her family to the Ku Klux Klan.

On Tuesday, Khloé posted an image macro meme that's been making the rounds on the web for some time now that shows her and her sisters, Kim and Kourtney, wearing all white with a message that reads: "The only KKK to ever let black men in."

She captioned the pic: "True."

Let's just let that one sink in for a minute.

Khloe took the post down a few hours later after she quickly found herself facing a storm of criticism for, well, pretty obvious reasons.

Possibly in response to the backlash, Khloé  also posted an uncaptioned pic of a neon sign on a brick wall that reads: "We're all equally f**ked up, some only hide it better." This begs that question of why she posted the original joke in the first place. As much as we would all love to imagine that Khloé spends her free time Photoshopping offensive memes about her own family, it seems much more likely that she found this online and decided to repost it.

Was she trying to re-appropriate an offensive image to take away its mean message? Did she simply find it funny? Was she trying to drum up additional ratings for Keeping Up With The Kardashians? Is it possible she doesn't know what the KKK actually is? Either way, it looks like she soon realized that it might not have been the best joke to post.

Meanwhile, her sister Kourtney Kardashian's beau, Scott Disick, stood behind the joke, and did not delete his Instagram post of it. Disick, who is Jewish, even added in the caption: "And a Jew."
