The injured son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo has been treated and discharged from hospital over security concerns.
Lt. Col. Adeboye Obasanjo, who was shot by Boko Haram militants during combat in Bazza, northern Adamawa State on Monday, reported to the military authorities in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal  Capital Territory, after he was discharged.

The Information Officer of Federal Medical Centre in Yola, northern Adamawa state, Malam Adamu Dodo, also confirmed the information, stressing that both his speedy recovery and the security factor contributed to his early release.
“There is the issue of his safety given the attention the story has been getting. The case has been receiving huge public attention and high profile personalities have been visiting him,” Adamu was quoted to have said.
The source added that the military authorities had flown him to Abuja, adding that they had concluded plans to fly him out of the country, but his father, former President  Obasanjo, insisted that he should be taken back to the hospital, where other wounded soldiers were being treated.
As at the time of filing this report, the family members were awaiting the arrival of the former Head of State from Singapore where he is on official assignment.

Lieutenant-Colonel Adeboye Obasanjo, who was caught by shots fired by the Boko Haram sect during exchange of fire in Bazza town of Michika Local Government Area, has expressed his desire to return to battle front once he is certified fit.
The son of the former Nigerian leader, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, said this on Tuesday, when former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, paid a visit to him at Federal Medical Centre in Yola, Adamawa State.
Mr. Atiku was quoted as telling of his joy at Mr. Obasanjo’s high spirit.
He reportedly told the recuperating officer that his display of courage can be rightly associated with his father, ex-President Obasanjo.
Similarly, Adamawa acting governor, Ahmadu Fintiri has saluted the courage and steadfastness of all officers of the Nigeria Army currently battling to curtail the activities of insurgents in Adamawa and entire Northeast.
He gave the commendation when he visited Lt. Col. Adeboye Obasanjo.
Mr. Fintiri was received at the hospital by the Chief Medical Director, Aliyu Danburam, who said Mr. Obasanjo was recuperating and in stable condition.
Meanwhile, transport fares have sky rocketed in Adamawa State following the mass movement of people from the northern part of the state to other area as a result of threats from the insurgents.
A monitored report by News Agency of Nigeria reports that transport fare from Mubi to Yola has risen by 400 per cent.
“We used to pay N1, 000 from Mubi, but today I paid N5, 000”, said Aliyu Buba, a student from Mubi.
