News: President Obama's bodyguard rushed to hospital after presidential car ran over his foot

A Secret Service agent assigned to President Barack Obama was rushed to hospital on Thursday night after the presidential car ran over his foot.The unfortunate bodyguard had just opened the door to the armored vehicle to allow the U.S. president to alight, when it rolled forward onto his toes, a witness said.Eric Connor, a journalist covering Obama's arrival at a lavish banquet for world leaders at Cardiff Castle yesterday evening, told ABC News he saw the agent hobble away with ice and a bandage on his foot. Fortunately for the hapless agent, it was not the presidential car known as 'The Beast' – an eight-ton, 18-foot limousine which has its own oxygen supply in case of chemical attack and is covered in eight-inch-thick armor plating.  A spokesperson told the newscaster that he was treated for his injuries at the University Hospital of Wales. He added that the agent has now 'checked out' of hospital and is said to be recovering well.The mishap came as Obama attended the banquet for heads of state, including David Cameron, attending the two-day NATO summit at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.
