The 2014 BET Honors were held last night at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., and as expected, it was a great night for music.
Hosted by Wayne Brady, the 7th annual event honored the achievements of Aretha Franklin, Ice Cube, Berry Gordy, and others, with musical tributes by Jennifer Hudson, Tamar Braxton, Janelle Monáe, Smokey Robinson, and Karen Clarke-Sheard. Mrs. Cannon was perched on top of a piano, as she debuted her new single “You’re Mine,” which is expected to drop later this week. After coming off stage, she received a hug from her daughter Monroe. How cute!
