A photo of Jaden’s older brother Trey DJing on the night was posted on the club’s facebook page, and Jaden could be seen in the background. Terry Barnes, a spokesperson for VIP Room Dubai, said Trey and Will were performing and Jaden “was around”.
Barnes added: “He slipped in somehow, but we escorted him out after.” However, he refused to answer questions on how the ‘Karate Kid’ star had managed to get past security in the first place. On Friday, the club posted photos from the night and a message on its facebook page saying: “Thank you Trey Smith, Jayden [sic] Smith & Will Smith for rockin’ Vip Room On Air. That is one superstar family!”
It also appears that it is not the first time Jaden had been in the club. Clips have been posted on YouTube of him performing during Wyclef Jean’s gig the week before, when his father also took to the stage. A Dubai nightclub industry insider said the situation “smacked of double standards”.
“No other 15-year-olds would get in,” the source said. It’s not the first Jaden has attracted controversy regarding entry to a nightclub. Justin Bieber dubbed his 19th birthday “the worst ever” after it was reported London club Cirque Du Soir barred the star from going in last year because the Canadian crooner had been trying to get the then 14-year-old Jaden into the club.
