News: See which lady sets a new Guinness World Record for the most knuckle push-ups

No guys, it isn't me!!! lol. An Abu Dhabi resident has just set a new Guinness World Record for the most knuckle push-ups completed  in one hour and in 24 hours at Al Wahda Mall on Sat. Feb.01

By completing 1,206 knuckle pushups in one hour and a total of 9,241 knuckle push-ups in the next 24 hours, Eva Clarke helped raise over $17,000 (Dh62,440) for the Maria Cristina Foundation, which helps underprivileged children in Bangladesh.

“It was extremely physically challenging, especially for my elbows, triceps, and biceps. The last 11 hours were traumatic, and that’s a very long time to be feeling uncomfortable,” she said.

“I was very anxious at the start, but I used the adrenaline to my advantage and pushed through knowing that I am making a difference,” she added. Going into the challenge, Clarke, a former military fitness instructor, had to beat the minimum requirement of 7,000 push-ups in 24 hours set by a Guinness World Record for this title. While she surpassed the record, Clarke admitted that she had a higher goal than 9,241 knuckle push-ups.

The record attempt, which was open to the public, started off with a build-up at the mall, and then Clarke hit the ground pushing, with a record-breaking 301 knuckle push-ups in the first 20 minutes.

The audience cheered as the Australian resident set a new record with 1,206 push-ups in an hour. After a short break, Clarke went on to set the next record, completing a total of 9,241 knuckle push-ups in 24 hours.

“The experience was incredible and I hope it helps people see that a spoonful of courage and a dash of resilience can get you to wherever you want to be,” she said.

As for the training it took to embark on such a challenge, Clarke said she has been following an intense daily push-up regime, as well as upper body and core training for over a year.

With two Guinness World Records under her belt now, she remarked, “I feel exhilarated and glad it’s over. I’d like to take on other ventures, and I’m sure I’ll come up with another challenge before the year’s over.”
