News: Indian jailed for making hoax bomb call in Dubai

Yesterday Mon.Feb.10, an Indian national was sentenced to one month jail for making a hoax bomb threat and fined 2,000 dirhams (about $500) for consuming alcohol without a permit.
The defendant, identified by his name's initials, SS, 36, called the police control room from a hotel on Dec 31 and said he knew of a bomb placed at the Dubai Airport that would soon explode, The National reported.
He was transiting through Dubai to another destination, which was not mentioned in court records.
While waiting for the date of departure of his plane, SS checked into a hotel and after consuming some liquor called police, claiming himself to be a Pakistani.
Police tracked the call and arrested him from the hotel.
SS, who was still drunk at the time of his arrest, confessed that there was no bomb at the airport.
