General Yakubu "Jack" Dan-Yumma Gowon (L) was the head of state of Nigeria from 1966 to 1975 and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (R) now late, was a Nigerian military officer and politician. Ojukwu served as the military governor of the Eastern Region of Nigeria in 1966, the leader of the breakaway Republic of Biafra.
