Photos: Outrage as Turkey’s President serves as best man at Arsenal footballer Mesut Ozil's wedding

The president of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan, was the best man at German and Arsenal footballer, Mesut Ozil's wedding on Friday.

With Turkish roots, Ozil, last year, sparked a furore in Germany when he took pictures with President Erdogan before the World Cup.
The 30-year-old later quit international football, citing the "racism and disrespect" he had experienced over the pictures.
Ozil married his fiancée, former Miss Turkey, Amine Gulse, at a luxury hotel on the banks of the Bosphorus.
However, his decision to make Erdogan his best man also sparked criticism in his home country, with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel's chief of staff, saying it "makes one sad" that he would do such, given the reaction to his pictures with him last year.
