Six passengers received treatment for injuries, with one being critically injured. Eight passengers were treated and discharged.
The Omani driver, Saeed Mohammed, is recuperating in a stable condition. According to the police, the driver was driving over the 40kmph speed limit on the road.
The impact was such that the barrier tore through the left side of the bus.
An Irish national was among the 17 victims that died in the horrific Dubai bus crash and has been identified as a 27-year-old teacher.
Fiona Geraghty was one of the 31 passengers on the Oman-registered bus, which is operated by Mwasalat and is used to transport passengers between Dubai and Muscat.
The 16 other victims included 12 Indian nationals, two Pakistanis, one Filipino and one Omani.
CGI Dubai has also revealed the names of the deceased Indians; "The names of those who have passed away are: Mr. Rajagopalan, Mr. Feroz Khan Pathan, Mrs. Reshma Feroz Khan Pathan, Mr. Deepak Kumar, Mr. Jamaludeen Arakkaveettil, Mr. Kiran Johnny, Mr. Vasudev, Mr. Tilakram Jawahar Thakur," it further tweeted.
