Peabo Bryson hospitalized after suffering a heart attack

Singer-songwriter Peabo Bryson — who took home Grammys for performing the “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin” themes — is recovering following a “mild heart attack” at his home over the weekend, according to his rep.
“He is currently listed in stable condition and is awake and responsive,” a rep for 68-year-old Bryson said on Monday. “Both his medical team and family are optimistic for a speedy recovery.” The medical emergency happened in the early morning hours of Saturday.
The R&B singer, who has been performing since his teens, won the 1993 Grammy Award for best pop performance by a duo or group with vocals for singing the “Beauty and the Beast” theme with Céline Dion and the same honor in 1994 for “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin” with Regina Belle. His most recent album, “Stand For Love,” dropped in 2018.
According to Bryson’s website, his next concert is scheduled for May 3 in Akron, Ohio.
