U.S. Olympic cyclist Kelly Catlin has died by suicide at the age of 23

Kelly Catlin, an Olympic track cyclist who helped the United States women’s pursuit team win the silver medal at the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016, died on Friday at her home in California.
Kelly Catlin was a championship cyclist at several levels, including the World Track Cycling championships.
She was 23.
The USA Cycling chief executive, Rob DeMartini, said in a statement on Sunday that “the entire cycling community is mourning this immense loss. We are offering continuous support to Kelly’s teammates, coaches and staff. We also encourage all those who knew Kelly to support each other through the grieving.”
Catlin’s father, Mark Catlin, told VeloNews that his daughter killed herself.
Father to the three time world champion said her death was the result of a 'perfect storm' of depression, concussion symptoms and overtraining.
Track cyclist Kelly Catlin suffered concussion months before taking own life, says Christine Catlin, sister to the 23-year-old who took her life on Thursday night, has said that Kelly first tried to commit suicide in January following a number of bad crashes. Speaking to the Washington Post, her father Mark said:
“After her concussion, she started embracing nihilism. Life was meaningless. There was no purpose. This was a person with depression. For her, she could no longer concentrate on her studies or train as hard.”
Christine – one of three triplets including Kelly and brother Colin – said:
“She couldn’t train as well as she used to.” “She had really bad headaches and was sensitive to light. Then she tried to commit suicide in January.
Kelly was then found dead by her room mate at their on-campus residence at Stanford University in California, where she was studying for a graduate degree in computational and mathematical engineering.

We are tired of people killing themselves. We must stay in this crazy world together.
    WE DIE THERE!
