McGettigan’s JLT Dubai crowned the world’s best Irish pub

One of Dubai’s favourite Irish pubs, McGettigan’s JLT has been named the world’s best Irish pub.

The terrace has just reopened for winter, and everyone’s getting ready for some great craic in the great outdoors. And while more great events are being lined up (like the world’s best Bruce Springsteen tribute act), the pub is having a pumping celebration of its own.

If you’ve had a brilliant time at McGettigan’s recently, and that’s probably pretty likely, it’s because it has just been crowned the best Irish pub of the year (outside of Ireland) at the Irish Pubs Global Awards. 
We can only assume that awards ceremony is the party to end all parties, and McGettigan’s not only took home the gong for best Irish pub in the world, but its Souk Madinat branch also scooped the award for best food experience for a gastro pub.
“To be awarded Pub of the Year out of all the Irish pubs in the world is a great honour and is testament to our popularity as a brand. McGettigan’s JLT offers something for everyone, great drinks, and delicious food… as well as live music, comedy and sport,” said CEO Dennis McGettigan – who won the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Time Out Dubai Nightlife Awards. 

McGettigan’s group executive chef Derek Flynn was crowned the best chef, while group chairman Jim McGettigan took home the lifetime achievement award.
