Irish mother throws son from balcony & later jumps off from the same balcony in Dubai hotel

An Irish family is looking to bring home the remains of a mother and child, after the two died in an incident in a Dubai hotel.

The mother reportedly threw her son from the balcony of a Dubai hotel, before committing suicide. 

CCTV footage showed Mildred Darcy (38) throw her son, Kirin Darcy (2) from a balcony and committing suicide afterwards, according to Dubai Police.
The official said: “Footage from a camera on a building opposite to the hotel showed the woman, European, throwing her son and committing suicide afterwards."
She left two letters in her wake, one apologising to her husband and another explaining her actions to Dubai Police.
They leave behind Irish husband and father Satya Darcy.
The original aim for AED73,000 (£15,000) has been exceeded 
The family needed assistance to repatriate the remains and cover funeral costs.
So far, 445 supporters have contributed and in total over AED113,000 has been raised. This will cover the costs of the burial and flights for Ms Darcy's family, who live in Venezuela, to attend the funeral.

“This sum will help provide assistance to cover the cost of the funerals and any other associated costs. It will also help towards flying Mildred’s family from Venezuela back to Ireland, so both families can be as one together to pay tribute to the lives of Mildred and baby Kirin.

A family statement

We hear that her son was given weeks to live with terminal cancer. She reportedly said in the letter that she didn't want him to spend his last weeks in agony and she also didn't want to continue life without him.
