The creative director of the French fashion house is famed for selecting prestigious locations for Chanel's annual Cruise presentations.
Since 2000, the brand has traveled the world to Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Venice, Saint Tropez, Cap d’Antibes, Versailles, and Singapore, showcasing its inter-seasonal holiday line to a carefully selected group of press, buyers, and celebrities.
The 2014-2015 Cruise collection will, as usual, be unveiled between the main fashion week seasons, on May 13. "Chanel is very pleased to present its 2014-15 Cruise collection in Dubai," Bruno Pavlovsky, president of Chanel said in a statement.
"In addition to being a key hub for our fashion business in the Middle East, Dubai was chosen because it inspires travel and evokes the true spirit of Cruise. The show that we will hold in this city on May 13, in the presence of Karl Lagerfeld, will be a unique event that will feed the public's imagination around our brand."
Chanel also presented The Little Black Jacket, a photo exhibition curated by Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld, the former Vogue Paris editor, last year in Dubai. Singer Rita Ora, who features in the exhibition, attended the event at Downtown Dubai in April. The luxury house’s next anticipated show will take place on March 4 in Paris, where it will present its upcoming Fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection at Le Grand Palais.
