Recently named the ninth top-grossing tour of all time and number two on Billboard’s s Top 25 World Tours of 2013, Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque du Soleil has finally debuted in the Middle East this week.
Written and directed by Jamie King, the show features a fusion of visuals, dance and music that immerses audiences in the late King of Pop’s creative world.The Immortal World Tour has earned a worldwide following since its premiere in Montreal on October 2nd, 2011, making $325.1 million from 406 shows in 117 cities.
The international cast features 18 acrobats, nine musicians, two singers and 20 dancers. Four of the eleven band members previously worked with Michael himself, including drummer Jonathan ‘Sugarfoot’ Moffett, who played with Michael and his brothers for over 35 years.
Running as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, the event will continue until January 14th, 2014.
