Aretha Franklin handpicks Jennifer Hudson to play her in an upcoming biopic, #QueenOfSoul

Clive Davis dropped some exclusive information about the upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic during his annual pre-Grammy celebration on Saturday night.

Jennifer Hudson has been chosen by the legendary Aretha herself to play her in an upcoming biopic.

“Davis tonight introduced Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson to sing a couple songs, and then told the audience that Hudson will be playing Aretha Franklin in an upcoming biopic about the life of the Queen of Soul,” Mike Fleming Jr. wrote in a Deadline report. “Hudson was in fact hand picked by Franklin to play the role.”

Not too much information about the project has been released, but with Jennifer taking on the role we’re looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.
