Athletes have responded in droves to a video of a Tennessee boy, Keaton Jones, talking about the bullying he faces at school.
His mother, Kimberly, posted a since-deleted video wherein her son speaks tearfully about getting picked on by classmates. The words resonated with everyone, leading to a stream of support on social media.
Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker invited Keaton to a game. Titans offense lineman Taylor Lewan also reached out for contact information:
Most people saw the video and felt it was wrong. Then it comes out her kid called black kids “nig*er” That’s why they tuned him up.
The Tennessee middle schooler who spoke out against bullying in an emotional, now-viral video is overwhelmed by the support he’s received.
Keaton Jones, of Knoxville, has captivated the Internet after a video uploaded by his mother, Kimberly Jones, showed the boy in tears as he lamented the bullying he’s endured at school.
“Keaton is thrilled to hear from everyone,” a friend of the family tells PEOPLE. “It really means a lot to him.”
Keaton, who attends Horace Maynard Middle School in Maynardville, captured the attention of stars like Rihanna, Chris Evans, Hailee Steinfeld and more with the moving video. In the video shared on Facebook on Friday, Keaton emotionally explained how he was bullied at school.
Then his mother closes all her social media accounts and opens a GoFundMe account! 🤔
