The opening scene of the black and white clip — shot under the direction of Samuel Bayer — simultaneously takes place at the desert and the beach with two dancers. Halfway through the wistful video, colors are incorporated with unseen footage from Michael’s 1992 “In the Closet” video.
“A Place With No Name” is a cut off the legend’s posthumous Xscape album. The tracks for the record were acquired from the Jackson estate by Epic Records chairman and C.E.O., L.A. Reid, who tapped heavyweight producers including Timbaland and Stargate to modernize each song.
