Security agencies cordoned the area and rescue operation was swift. Ambulances were seen moving in and out of the scene of the blast conveying dead bodies as well as injured victims.
At least twelve people have died and many injured as a car bomb exploded today at the gate of Emab Plaza in the Wuse 11 section of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The massive explosion went off about 4 p.m Nigerian time. An eyewitness said the powerful explosion shattered several cars and left debris from nearby buildings. He added that the casualty count was likely to be higher.
There had been no official statement from Nigeria’s security officials as at the time of this report.
Also, in the northeast part of Nigeria, earlier today, there was another bomb blast at Kasuwan Kuturu, a local market in Mubi town of Adamawa State.
