The group launched a Kickstarter campaign yesterday morning in effort to raise enough money to pay for studio time, promotion and compensation to those involved in creating the album. They’re hoping to raise $150,000.
While the group insists that launching a Kickstarter campaign is the ultimate way to involve fans, many will point to the group’s past financial issues as the true cause.
Still, Chilli had the following to say:
“We could knock out two birds with one stone. We can have them [the fans] involved in our album. Then also, we can have control over everything. That’s a perfect combination.“
Donations start at $5.
While we applaud TLC’s effort to have new music released, we already can imagine the jokes to be created from such a bold move.
Ain’t too proud to beg?
