News: Recovery team unable to raise the wreckage: 90 bodies on #AirAsia #QZ8501 trapped on seabed

The bodies of around 90 passengers believed to be trapped in the crashed AirAsia jet will remain at the bottom of the sea after recovery teams gave up trying to raise the wreckage.

The Indonesian military has made several attempts to bring up the fuselage from the bed of the Java Sea but was thwarted by equipment failures and bad weather. 
Rear Admiral Widodo, head of the navy’s western fleet, said no more attempts will be made, adding: ‘We apologise to the families. We tried our best.’
