A Qatar Airways flight was delayed for six hours after a mouse was spotted running down the aisle of the aircraft.
The subsequent return journey from Madrid to Doha was delayed as the plane was pulled from service and had the cabin fumigated.
The flight was due to depart at 3pm, but passengers faced a delay of over six hours while the mouse was exterminated and the fumes had been allowed to clear. The flight eventually left Madrid after 9pm.
Spanish newspaper 20 Minutos reported that passengers missed connections to places like Thailand, Singapore and Bali as a result of the extended delay.
The newspaper reported that Qatar Airways said it would pay any costs incurred as a result of the disruption.
