Starting today, June 6, only individuals vaccinated against #Covid19 can attend events in the UAE

UAE officials have confirmed that only those who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 will be allowed to attend events held within the country starting June 6, 2021.
On Tuesday, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, official spokesperson of the UAE Health Sector, stated that only those who have received the Covid-19 vaccine and participants in the vaccine clinical trials, will be permitted to attend events and activities held in the country, provided they present a negative result of a PCR test taken within 48 hours, with an E letter showing in their respective Al Hosn applications.
She added that all precautionary measures must be followed at these events, including wearing face masks and adhering to social distancing guidelines, reported state news agency WAM.
Earlier this month, Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, said that permits will be given for concerts and social and institutional events on the condition that attendees and participants have been vaccinated.
Maximum attendees at indoor events in Dubai has been capped at 1,500, and for outdoor events that cap stands at 2,500 people.

Also within the emirate, community sports events are now allowed to be held, but with the condition that all attending spectators, participants and staff have received their Covid-19 vaccine. The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention on Tuesday said that a total of 12,294,706 jabs have been administered, with a vaccine distribution rate of 124.31 doses per 100 people.

“Today, we see the fruit of our efforts as we proudly announce the UAE becoming world’s leading country in terms of the distribution rate of the Covid-19 vaccine doses for every 100 persons, which highlights the success of the national vaccination campaign,” said Dr. Al Hosani.
The national vaccination campaign has resulted in 78.11 per cent of eligible population over 16 receiving the vaccine, and 84.59 per cent of people aged over 60 being administered their jab too.
She noted that taking an additional vaccine dose a few months after the main doses will boost immunity against coronavirus variants, noting that the country offers several types of effective Covid-19 vaccines. She also encouraged people to get retested for the virus if their symptoms persist after a negative test result, due to the detection of several Covid-19 variants around the world.
