ANNOUNCED: Private & public sectors holiday in UAE for birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

A private sector holiday has been announced by the UAE government to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The day off has been declared for Sunday November 18, meaning many workers will get a three-day long weekend. Normal hours will resume the next day on Monday November 19.
The UAE government has announced that public sector employees will be getting the same day off. We may also be looking at yet another long weekend to celebrate Martyr’s Day, falling on Friday November 30 as declared by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. Since it falls on a Friday though, it’s unlikely we’ll be getting a day off.
However, UAE National Day is on Sunday December 2, so there may be another holiday coming up before the end of the year.
