A 155-million-old resident of Dubai Mall has been finally been named – DubaiDino.
The complex ran a competition asking shoppers to come up with a name for the diplodocus skeleton, which was erected in the Grand Atrium earlier this year.On Monday, the mall announced the winning entry at an official ceremony.
It said on its Twitter account: “The winning name is #DubaiDino #NameTDMDino”
DubaiDino is unique as the fossil is 90 per cent original, while the majority of diplodocus skeletons around the world are only 30 per cent complete.
The skeleton was discovered in 2008 at the Dana Quarry in Wyoming, USA, and air-freighted to Dubai.
