Photos: The Miss Philippines-Earth 2014

The Philippines is set to field this year's bet to Miss Earth, considered one of the world's Big Four Beauty Pageants (along with Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International).
Its organizer has selected 49 candidates for the coveted title; representing various Philippine towns--from Binalonan, Pangasinan in Northern Luzon to Zamboanga City in Mindanao. A handful of international Pinays from Belgium, Australia and USA are also joining the rest of the finalists.
While the Philippines celebrated #EarthDay last April 22, the 50 candidates of Miss Philippines-Earth 2014 made the scorching heat bearable at the poolside of Solaire Resort and Casino at their official press presentation.
The candidates were divided into six groups: Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, International Fil-Communities and Metro Manila. 

The top ten from the pageant preliminaries were announced:

• Cebu Liloan - Crystal Star Aberasturi

• Gapan, Nueva Ecija - Bianca Paz

• Tanauan, Batangas - Diane Querrel

• Sydney, Australia - Melanie Balagtas

• Melbourne, Australia - Carmen Baena

• Davao City - Janelle Tee

• Dinalupihan, Bataan - Monique Manuel

• Sta Rita, Pampanga - Angeli Ocampo

• Makati City - Rossa Misa Natul

Gapan, Nueva Ecija’s Bianca Paz is a Bb Pilipinas 2009 semi-finalist, Miss World Philippines 2011 2nd Runner-Up and Miss World Philippines 2013 2nd Runner-Up. Makati City’s Rossa Misa Natul is a Bb Pilipinas 2010 semi-finalist and Miss World Philippines 2012 1st Runner-Up.
