Cops are investigating the possibility that Paul Walker was in the middle of a high-speed street race with another car at the time he crashed and died this weekend
Law enforcement sources say investigators have received tips that Walker and the man driving the Porsche, Roger Rodas, had been racing prior to the crash and the high speed may have contributed to the wreck that killed both men.
Sources say the area where the crash occurred has a history of being a popular street racing location.
Cops are on the hunt for video and witnesses that could prove another car was involved.
Story developing ......

As for the red the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT involved in the crash, it was one of 38 cars in the Always Evolving store inventory. The price was listed as "private collection," and had 3,283 miles on it.
Before he was the face of "Fast and Furious," Paul Walker was a gear-headed speed freak. It was an obsession that defined his life and death.

Paul and Roger were on their way to a charity event organised by Walker, when the accident happened. They died instantly.
Asked if anyone had witnessed the crash, Jim Torp, who met Paul earlier in the day at the event, told the Santa Clarita Valley Signal: "I know there was a couple that came out of one of the parking lots.
"A man and his wife. They saw it happen. They have it on video tape. They thought it was a film being made.
"They didn't know it was Paul or Roger. They had no clue.
"They just saw a very nice car get in an accident and then blow-up."
Mr Torp had earlier spoken about the last time he saw Paul as he jumped into Roger's Porsche and told him "let's go for a drive".
"Roger backed it in to the garage and Paul jumped in and said 'Hey, let's go for a drive'", he said.
Pointing to the mangled wreckage of the Porsche Carrera GT, Jim added: "So they went for a little drive and this is what happened."

Paying tribute to the Hollywood actor, Mr Torp added: "He lived his life and died fast and furious".
"It's strange.
"(Walker) made his movies. He lived his life and he died fast and furious today. He loved speed, he loved cars, and he had to die this way. He died in a very fast car with his friend."
As police continued their investigations into the fireball crash Sgt. Brian Allen of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station told the Santa Clarita Valley Signal: “We don’t know much about the cause of the collision other than that we know speed was at least a contributing factor."
