Jeff Pollack was found in Greenbelt Park, a popular jogging spot in the area, and was wearing jogging clothes.
A police officer said that nothing about the death appeared unusual and authorities had no reason to suspect foul play. A woman ran into the police station at 6:23 a.m. to report that a man was lying in the Greenbelt area near 30th Street.
Pollack was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The official cause has not yet been determined.
According to reports, Pollack was divorced and had two teenage children.
After serving as a writer and producer on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Pollack made his feature directorial debut with the 1994 drama Above the Rim, starring Tupac Shakur. He went on to write and direct the pre-pre-Oscar Jamie Foxx raunchfest Booty Call and the David Spade comedy Lost & Found.
Pollack also served as an executive consultant on The Tyra Banks Show and he's listed as a production consultant on 2003's Monster, starring Charlize Theron in her Oscar-winning role as serial killer Eileen Wuornos.
He was 54. May his soul R.I.P.
May his soul rest in peace!
