
Vanessa Van Dyke, a student at Faith Christian Academy in Orlando, Florida, was told by her school that she had to cut her big, large and puffy hair — or straighten it — if she didn’t want to be expelled. But her mother fought back against the ridiculous rules saying that her daughter’s African-American hair “naturally grows out.” The school’s administrators now say they are not requiring her to cut it but want her to style it differently.
