News: UAE to let prisoners privately meet wives in jail

The UAE has decided to allow inmates in its prisons to privately meet their wives so as to allow intimate meetings between married couples inside the jail.
Emarat Alyoum daily said, quoting Brigadier Hamad Al Shamsi, director general of the punitive and rehabilitation institutions at the ministry of interior: “We have already started arrangements for this law, which is the first in the UAE to allow such meetings between married couples provided they conform to the UAE’s traditions and culture…new buildings will be constructed next to prisons for such meetings while any new jail building should be designed on this basis.”
