Emirates has confirmed that an EK049 flight headed for Munich from Dubai had to make an emergency landing in Kuwait after a passenger died mid-flight.
The passenger was pronounced dead by the on-ground doctor.
The airline released a statement but haven't given out the deceased's name, age or other details.
The airline made a statement:
“Emirates can confirm that flight EK049 from Dubai to Munich was diverted on 10 October 2017 to Kuwait International Airport due to a medical emergency. The passenger received immediate medical attention upon landing, but unfortunately was pronounced dead by an emergency doctor on the ground. Emirates would like to express its condolences to the family of the deceased. The flight continued its journey to Munich where it landed approximately 2.5hrs behind schedule.”

The statement did not mention the cause of the child’s death. But the girl had obviously suffered high fever. She was aboard with four family members.
Reports have now emerged that the passenger was a 7-year-old girl.
According to reports from Germany, the young girl reportedly from Taiwan (but unconfirmed at this stage) collapsed 45 minutes into the flight, with a high fever.
The emergency physician boarded the plane upon landing in Kuwait but was unable to resuscitate the girl.
First of all.from my time working in the aviation..we never agreed to take an already sick person onboard....just the fact that its so expensive to make emergency landings ...So its a pitty work from obvious the responsible staff at check in or the gate manager to not have observed this sick kid...And also parents eventually fault not to respect this issue...i know and i have seen parents desperatly attempt to be boarding a certain flight just so they could stick to their agenda....feel sorry for the involved people...
